Three of our Best Barn Conversion Projects

Three of our Best Barn Conversion Projects

Barn conversions are one of our key specialities, and we are gaining a reputation as the leading barn conversion experts in the South West and Wales.

Our long experience of high-end new home build projects and our familiarity with planning regulations and the other obstacles that arise on barn conversions mean that we are the ideal building contractors for turning old farm buildings into modern, aspirational, eco-friendly homes.

Here are three recent projects where we were able to apply all our expertise and deliver truly exceptional results.

Dutch Barn in Iron Acton, South Gloucestershire

We transformed an old cowshed into a stunning family eco home in the Gloucestershire countryside.

This project was particularly challenging due to the complexity of the contracts we needed to work through to obtain permission for the switch from agricultural to residential use.

Clad in beautiful French green oak, the house looks spectacular from the outside, and the interior is no less impressive. It was designed to be as open, airy and light as possible, and we even included little touches like an indoor slide for the kids, to make it truly the perfect family home.

Llandowlais Farm in Usk, Monmouthshire

The South Wales region is full of old disused barns just perfect for being converted into unique homes. We knew as soon as we saw it that the farm site we purchased in the village of Usk in Monmouthshire could become a very special home.

We are currently in the process of converting the collection of old farm buildings into one-of-a-kind residential properties, complete with a wine cellars, period features and a dedicated electricity transformer and water treatment plant.

Manor Barn in Portskewett, Monmouthshire

Manor Barn

The Manor Barn was in a terrible state of disrepair when we took on this project. Despite that, we could see the potential instantly – an opportunity to build a genuinely special property in a scenic village location.

The finished article didn’t disappoint. With a striking stone and glass exterior and a spacious modern interior, the house combines all the comforts of a high-end modern home with the best of country living.

We faced a few hurdles along the way when it came to aspects like planning permission, which we were able to overcome with a bit of patience and know-how. All in all, it was an exceptionally successful project.
